Wants and fears are how your Sims convey what they want to do in their spare time.

[edit] Lifetime Want

The Lifetime Want is a Want that rewards a large number of Aspiration and Influence points. Contrary to its name, more than one Lifetime Want may appear during a Sim's lifetime, as when one is accomplished, another appears. Fulfilling a Lifetime Want results in having Platinum Aspiration for your Sims' lifetime.
