Toddler is the second life stage. It follows Baby and comes before Child. Toddler is the earliest life stage you can choose for a Sim in Create-A-Sim.
Although this is the first life stage in which the individual can be selected by the player, toddlers require an adult or teenager to take care of them. The purpose of this life stage is to increase the aspiration level as much as possible, in hopes of their "Growing up well."
[edit] Training and Learning
Toddlers must be "taught to walk" and "talk" by an adult or teenage Sim, and must also be potty trained. Once the toddler has learned these abilities, they appear in the memory box. Walking, talking and potty training each add +2000 aspiration points, so keep the toddler toddling away by paying lots of attention to them.
Is it taking too long to train your baby? In the Aspiration Rewards menu, buy Smart Milk. Smart Milk will not only increase your toddler's ability to learn and train WHILE they are "glowing" but also later on in their lives. Children, teens and adults who have been fed Smart Milk as a toddler will learn faster, become re-energized faster, remain energized longer, etc. It is highly recommended to use Smart Milk if you want smart, successful Sims.
[edit] Playing
Toddlers get bored easily and must be played with by Sims, or instead must play with the "Talking Rabbit Head" (like a speak and say"), the Xylophone or the "Shape, Rattle and Roll" block setup. The rabbit will increase charisma, the xylophone creativity and the shape toy logic. It's okay to leave the toddlers alone for hours while they play.
Adults and teens may be able to select "Play With" while a toddler is using a toy object and thereby interact with the toddler, to increase their own social skill and fun, though only slightly. Toddlers themselves can either "Ask for Attention" or "Ask for Food".
