Based on The Sims 2 Pets, the top-selling expansion pack to The Sims 2, The Sims Pet Stories is the second release in the new product line called The Sims Stories. Train, play with, and care for your Sims’ cats and dogs, and do your best to keep them happy. Count on many unexpected twists in this easy-to-play, laptop-friendly version of The Sims.
A greedy landlord is threatening to take her home. Can she win the first-place cash prize at the local Dog show with her loveable dog Sam and save her house?
He's a chef with a very predictable life. Then his cousin's cat, Diva, moves in. Can this cat get him out of the kitchen and into a more active social life?

Based on The Sims: Holiday, a TS1 favourite, is being brought to The Sims Stories series. This was ironically announced even before The Sims 2: Bon Voyage, the TS2 remake of Holiday. This is also going to be a standalone game and will not need The Sims Life Stories or The Sims Pet Stories to play.

The Sims Stories series of games are not intended to run exclusively on laptop computers, they merely have been designed so they can be. The game's controls have been designed specifically for the laptop with an auto-pause function where users can suspend the games when the lid of the laptop is opened or closed.

The Sims Stories provides two gameplay modes. The first mode is the original Sims series' open-ended mode, where players create Sims and choose how the Sims fulfill their dreams through life's biggest moments. The second mode, dubbed "Story mode", tasks players to take their Sims through storyline-based missions encountering romance, conflict and storyline twists.
