The Sims 3 is the game succeeding The Sims 2 and The Sims. The Sims 3 was first announced by EA in November 2006. Production of the game started after the release of The Sims 2. EA's chief financial officer, Warren Jenson, said that The Sims 3 is "most likely to be launched in the 2009 fiscal year", which actually starts sometime in 2008.
