SimPE (Simple Package Editor) is a 3rd-party freeware program for The Sims 2 that opens and edits .package files. Although it doesn't require any Expansion Packs to be used, a new version must be downloaded for each new EP that comes out, due to the new features. However, this problem has been effectively irradicated due to the fact that all EPs have been released. It is currently in version 0.72.133855.
Its abilities include, but are not limited to:
- Edit family ties
- Clone or recolor objects
- Edit your Sims
- View objects outside The Sims 2
- Change file refs
- Recolor with Wizards of SimPE
- View hidden objects (such as unused plumbob ideas).
