The Sims 2 Apartment Life expansion is a great idea. For the most part it is a good expansion but it is lacking some basic things that you would think the people at Maxis would have thought of. One of the main things is that to build your own apartments you have to build it as a residental lot then use the changelotzoning cheat to make it an apartment, but thats not too bad right, well its not that easy if you don't know much about that cheat and you the help cheat to get the right cheat. Well there is two different apartment cheats for changelotzoning. I have used both and found that one, apartmentsubase, does one thing and that is delete the lot you just built. the correct one to use is apartmentbase. However that isnt all that you have to do. You must also add another cheat to choice the classifaction of the lot. Another stupid thing with this game is that if you want to make town houses you are unable to use garages because when you try switching the lot to an apartment lot the game wont let you. Plus you can only have 4 families in 1 apartment building but for some reason the mailbox has 9 slots for 9 families. Despite those downsides the game is a good addition to the sims 2 series. Hopefully Maxis will release a patch soon for it though because of all the expansions i have played this one seems to have the most glitches. Including some items, mainly the airvents, are sometimes not able to be picked up, or how there are 2 windows in the game that used to have recolors but now have none. The most annoying glitch is one that happens when you have the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true cheat on. When you try placing a phone or try using the phone you get one of those error windows that give you the options to cancel, reset, or delete. One final problem is one that is very odd, i noticed that the strangetown neighborhood is gone sense i installed the game. But if your looking for a new expansion for your sims 2 then this is a good one.
