Perhaps the most important of all the copyright terms on Simpedia is that the usage of any Simpedia content will apply this license (including this clause) to your content/creation/product as well. Once an article has been published on Simpedia it is released into the public domain and is no longer the property of the person who contributed it. It is illegal to publish any content which appears on Simpedia under your own name, or to accept payment for the use of any Simpedia content.

Exemptions

The following are the only exceptions to some or all of the above rules, unless otherwise stated by the site developers

• Reviews and tutorials may bear the name of the writer, although they agree to release their work into the public domain.
• Images and other files which have been uploaded to the site remain the property of the creator, provided that a notice is displayed on the image page. All images bearing no copyright information will be assumed to be released into the public domain, unless it can be proved that they are copyrighted elsewhere and that the copyright owner has given permission for them to be uploaded to Simpedia. Images which have been uploaded without the permission of the copyright holder will be removed, where possible.

Copyright Violation

We try to maintain a site that is free of copyright violations. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you could follow these guidelines:

1. Do not submit work you know is copyrighted.
   1. If you know who holds the copyright, ask for permission. Respect their decision.
   2. If you don't know the details of the copyright, use your judgement, remembering that by law, you may be commiting an offence.
2. Do not submit work you do not want modified. This is a wiki, anyone can edit it.
3. Do not upload images found on a search engine unless you have located the copyright information for these images.
