Influence

Influence is a system introduced with The Sims 2 University similar to that of the motives system, and moreso the aspiration system, but with a twist on the points.

The Influence bar is located next to the Aspiration bar. The Influence bar indicates how many Influence points you have. This shown by the white stuff in the gauge. To see how many points you have, move the mouse over the bar.

Points can be obtained by achieving certain Wants and lost by achieving certain Fears. Influence makes your Sim convince another Sim to do their bidding, what your Sim tells them to do depends on how many Influence points you have. This requires an Expansion Pack or otherwise you only have Aspiration.

Unfortunately though, the amount of points you can have is capped. First, it is capped at 2000, but as you gain more friends, the cap raises until there isn't any cap.
