Introduced with the Sims 2 expansion pack Open For Business, elevators can be placed within a Sim's house or a community lot but require at least two floors if you want Sims to be shuttled from level to level. Players can choose the exterior and interior design, as well as place elevator shafts between two serviced floors if the middle floor does not require an elevator.

Sims can WooHoo in an elevator, but there is also a chance of the lift plummeting, dropping the motives of a Sim down low or killing them if they already were low at the time of the fall.
