[edit] Opening the Cheat Box
To open the cheat box, hold Ctrl + Alt + C.
Now that the cheat box is open you can open it further by pressing ` (console key in many games). (This is located to the left of the 1 key on most 101- and 105-key keyboards) By doing this the cheat box will stay open until you hit that key again.
All cheats with on or true in them can be turned back on/off by replacing it with off or false. (same works the other way around)

All the cheats are colour coded to help you see how dangerous or harmless the cheat is. Below is a table with the color and comment about what that colour represents. Cheats are also listed from most dangerous to least dangerous.

| Cheat | Effect On Game |

| Sethighestallowedlevel (1-255) | This changes the number of floors possible to build on. The maximum is 255, but build too many floors and you wont be able to see the top. |
| terraintype (dirt/concrete) | Changes neighbourhood terrain type. |
| changeLotZoning (residential/community/greek/dorm/secretsociety) | changes the zoning type of the lot. Before rezoning a lot using this cheat, make sure there are no Sims currently living in the lot. To use this cheat, enter the lot that you would like to rezone, and then enter the cheat, choosing one of these zoning options. |
